Gertha Adams Mangum, 102, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Nicey Ivey Adams. Gertha was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who has gone to be with her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Angier Baptist Church for 84 years and a founding member of the Golden Gems. In addition to her parents, Gertha is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Dee Mangum; daughter, Sharion Dugger; brothers, Halford, Roy, Rosvil and Cadwell Adams. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth M. Hockaday and husband, Fred of Raleigh, Donna M. Cobb and husband, Earl of Angier; son, John Dee Mangum, Jr. and wife, Betty of Angier; son-in-law, Arley J. Dugger of Angier; sister-in-law, Christine G. Adams, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
