      Location - 6340 Ridge Rd, Tobaccoville.

      Directions: from Winston-Salem take Hwy 67 (Reynolda Rd) northwest to Ridge Rd, whichis just before crossing the Yadkin River. Turn right onto Ridge Rd and the church and cemetery are on the right about 0.2 mile from Hwy 67.

      On Dec.15,1895 a group of Baptist which included Isaac Davis and Lee Davis met in the Waller School house at the corner of Hwy 67 and Ridge Rd. to organize a church calling themselves the Donnaha Baptist Church. After getting the land for the current church, they built themselves a church. New Bethel became New Bethel Baptist Church when they opened this church building April 10th 1897. Opal Davis Shore, her parents and grandparents lived on the other side of the river in East Bend.They crossed the river in a boat,or ferry in those early years.

Greg was a member of Sparta United Methodist Church and the Sparta Lions Club. He loved sports, especially football, basketball, and Nascar racing. He was an avid fan of Harry Gant. He loved animals, the outdoors, and being in the woods. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Carolyn and Bob Sprinkle of Sparta; one brother, Steve Sprinkle of Winston-Salem; one sister/aunt, Sherri Skelton and husband John of Moore, SC; one uncle, Bobby Groseclose and wife Priscilla of Clemmons; several cousins also survive. Funeral service to honor the life of Greg at 12:00 noon Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Sparta United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Miller officiating. Graveside service followed at 3:00 p.m. in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Tobaccoville.

        80. Mr. Stanley Wayne Joyner, 55, of Hillsborough passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at his home. Mr. Joyner was born on February 17, 1963 in Forsyth County to the late Joe H. Joyner and Nancy Conrad Joyner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Cathy Joyner Gibbs. Mr. Joyner graduated from North Forsyth High School and UNC Chapel Hill. Those left to cherish his memory are a brother, Joseph Dale Joyner; a brother-in-law, Wade Gibbs; a niece, Grace Gibbs; and a nephew, Collin Gibbs. A funeral service for Mr. Joyner will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 2 pm at Huff Funeral Home with the Pastor Ricky Speas officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery. Huff Funeral Home of East Bend is respectfully serving the Joyner family.
