Husband of Mary Bess Plyler Mann. Mr. Charles Lee Mann, Sr., age 85, of Sanford, was called to his eternal home on his birthday Sunday, November 15, 2015. He was born in Lee County on November 15, 1930 to the late Hammett Glasgow Mann and Lizzie Lee Todd Mann. Charles Lee was a lifetime member of Jonesboro United Methodist Church serving on numerous committees during his lifetime. He was active within the Democratic Party. He served on the Selected Service Board and was past chairperson of the Airport Authority. His career spanned many years, having worked his way from a Parole Field Officer to Chairperson of the Parole Commission in Raleigh before his retirement and received the Long Leaf Pine award. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Bess Plyler Mann; two sons Charles Lee Mann, Jr. "Chuck" and wife Peggy of Sanford, William G. Mann and wife Judy of Clayton; brother Johnny Mann of Atlantic Beach, FL; sister Margaret Cox of Sanford; grandchildren Ashley Matsik, Laurel Billings, Clarke Mann, Mackenzie Mann, Will Mann, Patrick Mann and Kyle Mann; and two great-grandchildren Malli Matsik and Camden Billings.

Wife of Charles Lee Mann, Sr. Mary Bess Plyler Mann, age 91, of Sanford, N.C., passed away at Parkview Retirement Center. She was born in Lincolnton, NC to the late William Plyler and Hattie Gantt Plyler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Mann, Sr. and brother, Bill Plyler. Mrs. Mann retired after a long career teaching school. She is survived by her sons, Charles Lee Mann, Jr. "Chuck" and wife, Peggy of Sanford and William G. Mann and wife, Judy of Clayton; seven grandchildren, Ashley Matsik, Laurel Billings, Clarke Mann, Mackenzie Mann, Will Mann, Patrick Mann and Kyle Mann; five great-grandchildren, Malli Matsik, Graham Matsik, Camden Billings, Finley Billings and Adalyn Billings. Arrangements were handled by Bridges Cameron Funeral Home of Sanford NC. A graveside service was held at Jonesboro Cemetery in Sanford NC.

He was born in Lee County, NC to Daniel George Mimms and Lucille Jackson Mimms. His father preceded him in death. Daniel was a well-known plumber, for over 30 years, owning and operating Mimms Plumbing. He always gave a helping hand to anyone who needed help and loved his family. He also enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Pamela Faircloth Mimms; brother Ricky Dale Mimms of Broadway; sisters Lorraine Mimms Bunnell of Broadway, Marsha Ann Mimms of Augusta, GA; half-sisters Kathy Godfrey of Sanford, Janice McLeod of Florida; step-daughters Maigon Gabrielle Fisher and husband Chuck of Broadway, Cesily Tiera Evans and husband Bubba of Olivia; and step-grandchildren Nathan Derek Howard, Emily Grace Evans and Riley Pauline Fisher. Arrangements were handled by Bridges Cameron Funeral Home of Sanford, NC. Burial was held at Jonesboro Cemetery.
