Husband of Frances Jones Tart. Quinn Edward Tart, 67, of Buies Creek passed away and is in the loving arms of his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Many were inspired by his courageous battle with cancer and his quiet endurance of suffering. Mr. Tart was born in Lillington, NC, and raised on the family farm in the Flatwoods Community. He was a beloved husband, father, grandaddy, brother, cousin, and friend. Preceding him in death were his wife of 31 years, Frances Jones Tart of Cary; brother, Ronald Tart of Lillington; and parents, Marvin and Westray Beasley Tart of Lillington. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 12 years, Jane King Tart of Buies Creek; daughter, Regan Tart Luthin and husband Billy, of Florida; step-children Laura and Eric Matthews, of Angier, and Scott and Holly Ladner, of Holly Springs; grandchildren Will, Nolan, and John Henry Luthin, Savanna and Roman Matthews, and Kate Ladner; sisters Gwen Sherman (Carl) of Lillington, and Brenda Withers (Jerry) of Broadway; sister-in-law Mary Tart of Lillington; brother-in-law Howard Jones (Jane) of New Bern; brother-in-law Carl King (Linda) of Hurley, MS; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins from the Harnett County area. Quinn was a graduate of Lillington High School and Hardbarger's Business College in Raleigh. He owned and operated Lillington Central Service Station on Main Street for almost 20 years, and many in Harnett County will remember him for his hard work and honest dealings. A farmer all his life, he was a strong provider for his family, and shared generously from the bounty of his garden. In his words, he had "two great loves" in his life. He met the first love, Fran, of New Bern, NC, in college. Quinn and Fran lived in Cary, NC, for 30 years and raised their only daughter, Regan. An unwavering and tender-hearted companion to Fran, Quinn cared for her until she lost her own battle to cancer in 2004. Later, he found love again with Jane and was blessed by her devoted children and grandchildren. Together, Quinn and Jane enjoyed many travelling adventures and the privilege of loving six dear grandchildren. Indeed, the Lord has provided richly for this family and many people have been blessed and inspired over the years to witness Quinn's faith and simple, honest living. Quinn was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Raleigh, and later Buies Creek First Baptist Church. Arrangements were handled by O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home of Lillington, NC. The funeral was held at Buies Creek First Baptist Church, with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery, Dunn.
