440 ALSTON, PHILIP FAMILY
Location - off Old Maple Rd, near the intersection with Ernest Turner Rd.
Directions: From Warrenton courthouse on Hwy 158 E Bus, travel 0.5 mile and turn right onto Hwy 58. Travel 4.2 miles to Liberia and bear right onto Hwy 58. Travel 8.5 miles and turn left onto SR 1628 (Ernest Turner Rd). Travel 2.7 miles and turn left onto SR 1629 (Old Maple Rd). The cemetery is 0.25 mile on the right in a wooded area near the road and is enclosed by a massive rock wall, partially intact. A broken tombstone was found with a legible inscription. Several collapsed graves lacking markers are discernable. Race-White.

Son of Philip G & Mary Alston, He was husband of Marina Priscilla Williams Alston who (he) built the nearby plantation house, "Cherry Hill," completed 1853.

May be buried here. Son of John Alston of Chowan Co. and his wife, Mary Lambert.
