267 BOYD, JOHN EARLY FAMILY (Lyons Creek Rd.)
Location - off Lyons Creek Rd about 1.8 miles from Hubquarter Rd (SR-1336).
Directions: From Warrenton courthouse on Hwy 158 E Bus, travel 6 miles and turn left onto SR 1335 (Church Hill Rd). Travel 3.2 miles and turn right onto SR 1336 (Hubquarter Rd). Travel 1.8 miles and turn left onto Lyons Creek Rd (Pvt) and travel 300 feet. The cemetery, enclosed by a wrought-iron fence, is on the left in the woods about 50 to 75 feet near the power lines. Race-White.
The late Mrs. Hattie Boyd Scott, a descendant, said the home was named Sylva Sonora, meaning "bright forest." Note: Mr. James M. Shearin, who lives near Church Hill, stated the Boyd Plantation home was moved to Littleton and restored.
