      • Wife of Norwood Kendall Gilbert. Treva Knight Gilbert, age 89 of Dudley, NC passed away at Wayne UNC Hospital in Goldsboro. Treva was born to the late Jody Jefferson Knight and Laura McNeill Knight of Broadway, NC. She was the youngest of the late 5 brothers and 4 sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband Norwood Kendall Gilbert. They shared 53 years of marriage with Peace, Happiness and Countless Blessings from their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Treva is survived by her daughter Kendra Cheryl Gilbert Hatem and her husband Ronnie Hatem. Treva graduated from Boone Trail High School in 1949 in Harnett County. She attended Campbell College for two years and graduated from East Carolina College in 1953 with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education. She taught a total of 31 years in the Alamance County Schools and in the Burlington City Schools. Arrangements were handled by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway, NC. Services were held at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway with burial in the Church cemetery.

Gillum paternal grandmother, Callie Wilson maternal great-grandmother, Puzzy Yarbrough maternalgreat-grandfather, Howard & Vickie Moore maternal great-great-great-grand parents, Ester Yarbrough maternal great-great-grandmother Darlene Stevens paternal great-great-grandmother, Helen Miller paternal great-great-grandmother Katherine Mannin pate.
  6. Gilmore, Eunice Faye Edwards   (b. 30 Jun 1941 - d. 7 Jun 2018)
      • Wife of Roy Wayne Gilmore, Sr. Eunice Faye Edwards Gilmore, age 76, of Lillington, NC, passed away at her home. She was born in Harnett County to the late Jessie James Edwards and Allie McNeill Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wayne Gilmore, Sr. and two brothers, Gerald Edwards and Jessie Ray Edwards. She was a retired registered nurse and worked for many years at both Fayetteville VA Hospital and Central Carolina Hospital. While at Central Carolina Hospital, Eunice worked as an emergency room supervisor. Eunice was a longtime member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed cross stitching and raising poodles - she loved her poodles. She is survived by her son, Roy Wayne Gilmore, Jr. and fianc‚, Tammy; one sister, Shirley Wilson Thomas and cousin, Nell Blakley of Sanford. Arrangements were handled by Bridges Cameron Funeral Home of Sanford, NC. The funeral service was held at Holly Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

      • Husband of Eunice Faye Edwards Gilmore.
  8. Godfrey, Dorothy Marie Brown   (b. 14 Jun 1929 - d. 7 Apr 2018)
      • Wife of Edward D. Godfrey. Dorothy Marie Brown Godfrey, age 88, of Sanford, NC passed away peacefully. Dorothy was born in Harnett County to the late John David Brown and Sarah Patterson Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Duncan Brown and Raymond Brown and by her sister, Lillian McNeill. She is survived by her husband, Edward D. Godfrey; her son, Edward D. Godfrey, Jr and his wife, Valerie of Sanford; three grandchildren, Jonathan Godfrey, Samuel Godfrey and Joseph Godfrey. Arrangements were handled by Bridges Cameron Funeral Home of Sanford, NC. Services were held at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway, NC with burial held in the church cemetery.

  10. Green, Henry Jackson   (b. 4 Apr 1934 - d. 15 Mar 2018)
      • Husband of Lynne West Green. Henry Jackson Green, age 83 of Broadway, died at his home. He was born in Robeson County, NC, son of the late Thomas Jefferson Green and Sallie Edge Green. He was preceded in death by his parents; Brother Kenneth Green; Sisters Sarah Rook and Hazel Green; and children Henry Jackson Green Jr., Donna Marie Green and Sean Ashley Green. Henry was a faithful and active worshipper at Holly Springs Baptist Church for over forty years. He spent his early career years in textiles and finance and later in the sale of manufactured homes and automobiles. He later opened and operated with his family the Road Runner Cafe in Broadway for 25 years. Henry was very active in his community serving on the Broadway Planning Board, as a Town of Broadway Commissioner and serving two terms as Mayor. He also served on Lee County Committee of 100 Board, Lee County Economic Development Committee Board, and Lee County Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities, and First Bank of Broadway, Board of Directors. He was a charter member of the Broadway Business Alliance, NC Veterans Memorial Committee, the Lee County Partnership for Children, and Broadway Optimist Club. As Mayor he also led a group of citizens to reestablish the Broadway Christmas Parade which had not been held for a few years. Henry also was a member of Bingham Masonic Lodge No. 272 A.F. and A.M. in Mebane, NC, a member of the Greensboro Scottish Rite Consistory and a Shriner with the Oasis Temple in Charlotte. Surviving is his wife Lynne West Green of the home; Sons Michael Edward "Eddie" Green (Cheryl) of Mebane, NC, Martin Rodney "Marty" Green (Donna) of Mebane, NC, Steven Matthew Green (Sandra) of Athens, GA; and daughter Courtney Lynette Green of Broadway, NC; Sister Mary Green Hudgins of Raleigh, NC; Brother Tom Green (Hope) of Solon, Maine; Grandchildren, Chelsea Wicker, Austin Wicker, Grayson Green, Kristin Green (Aaron Ross), Tyler Green, Danielle Marion (Mike Buckler), Sarah Goodwin; and two Great grandchildren Bentley Ross and Ronin "Spook" Buckler; His former wife Marie Sykes Morris (Ricky) of Mebane, NC; In Laws Harold West (Mary), Parmalee Tuttle (Don), Jeanne West all of Kernersville, NC; and many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Henry. Special thanks to Dr. Pisharody, Dr. Gillespie, Dr. Phillips, Camille and Angela, Hospice Angels. Arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway. Funeral Services were held at Holly Springs Baptist Church with burial in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites given by Friendship Lodge # 763 A.F. and A.M. of Broadway, NC.
