438    BROWN - ACHESON CEMETERY

Location - at 1160 Woodland Church Rd.

We called this cemetery the Brown-Acheson Cemetery because the property was owned by a Brown and is current owned by an Acheson. It is currently unknown who is buried in the cemetery since there are no inscribed markers, only natural fieldstones. There are probably 20-30 graves in the cemetery with fieldstones and depressions.

Directions: From Wilton (intersection of Hwy 56 and Hwy 96) take Hwy 96 South to Brassfield Rd. Continue Hwy 96 south about 1 mile to Wayside Farm Rd. Take Wayside Farm Rd south to Bruce Garner Rd. Turn west on Bruce Garner Rd and go short distance to Woodland Church Rd. Turn left onto Woodland Church Rd and go about one mile to 1160 Woodland Church Rd on your left or east side of the road. The cemetery is on the north side of the property in the wooded area. It is on private property and you need to ask permission to visit the cemetery.

Surveyed by Allen Dew and Bonnie Breedlove in July 2013.
