      This abandoned cemetery has about 12 graves marked by native stones. Canvassed by Mildred Harris (1981). This burial ground is unprotected from farming activity but has been exempted from deeds to present and future landowners. It is known to contain graves of the family of James Hunter Horner who moved to Oxford, NC, in 1850 where he established the Hunter Academy.
