Significant events: This part of the county was settled very early. The style of inscriptions on stones suggest late 1700s or early 1800s burials. Rodney Rover remembered a stone with a 1700s date and a name, but we could not locate it. The inscribed stones we observed had initials only, some with illegible dates. Rodney's great grandfather referred to the cemetery as an Indian burial ground, suggesting it predated his ownership of the land by a considerable period of time..

Miscellaneous information: Location reported by Rodney Rover, 542-2418, and confirmed by Raeford Bland, 545-0897; Jane Pyle visited with Rover's 10-year-old daughter Rebecca, on 27 Oct 2007. Jane Pyle, Bev Wiggins, Rodney Rover and Rebecca Rover revisited the site and inventoried the gravestones on 12 Jan 2008.

Last canvassed by: J Pyle, B Wiggins, Rebecca Rover. Date: 12 Jan 2008.
