In April 1996, and on 14 August 1996, Doris Flexner and Audrey O. Heiser recorded 495 grave markers. On 6 January 1997, Will and Audrey Heiser checked some questionable data and reported 18 illegible markers. Lamont Norwood furnished many relationships not noted on the markers.
Mt. Pleasant Church was organized in 1779. The first deed of record is Deed Book Z, page 389, 28 August 1792, for one acre from John Trip to Thomas Coke and Francis Asbury, Bishops of the Methodist Church in America.
