      Location - Albright Township. On the south side of Fawn's Rest Road, about 0.1 mile from SR 1362, Piney Grove Church Road. Cemetery is across Fawn's Rest Rd from the driveway of the residence at 113 Fawn's Rest Rd.

      Abandoned: Yes and maintained. [has not been maintained recently - is overgrown in 2020]
      Size: 0.07 acre.
      Number of graves: 98+.
      Type: Believed to be white and slave.
      Unrestricted access: Yes.
      Condition: Overgrown, easily identifiable.
      Enclosed: Yes. Enclosed by white wood fence. Good Condition.
      Markers: Yes.
      Markers with inscriptions: Yes.
      Number of readable markers: 53.
      Last burial: 1912.
      First burial: 1801.
      Damaged markers: Yes. Exposure and neglect.
      Listed: Yes.
      Listed explanation: Lois Sugg Willett, DAR 1964, Harold Broughton, 1972; Lee County Genealogical Society, August 1993; Kevin Taylor photogaphed many of the markers in July 2013. The inventory was correctd and updated from Taylor's photographs.

      Historical significance: Broughton reported that this cemetery contains the grave of Samuel Siler (1810-1900), for whom Siler City was named.

      Miscellaneous information: In 1964, Lois Sugg Willett, Guilford Battle Chapter, Chapter, DAR, Greensboro, North Carolina, recorded 53 grave markers and 45 graves marked with field stones.
      On 2 May 1972, W. Harold Broughton recorded 42 grave markers, many illegible markers, and in back of cemetery are graves of 40 slaves marked with field stones.
      In August 1993, The Lee County Genealogical Society published a list, transcribed by Ann Barkley, of 66 names, including many duplicates and many copied from Lois Sugg Willett's list.

      Last canvassed by: Willett and Broughton. Date: 1964, 1972. Kevin Taylor photographed the markers in July 2013. Rich and Sue Luke photographed some markers in July 2020. Some corrections were made from their photographs.
