100    ANDERSON - HARRISON - SLADE - WILKERSON FAMILIES

Location - in Purly, Caswell County, NC, on Walters Mill Road (Old NC 86) (SR 1500), between Purly Church Road (SR 1516) and Providence, NC, north of Yanceyville, NC.

There are between 20-25 kin buried here dating from the mid-1870's. It is a family cemetery so all the people here are closely related in some form or another.

In the fall of 1995, the cemetery was in great disrepair. It was overgrown with weeds and shrubs, the iron fence surrounding the cemetery was bent and broken in many places due to ice storms that snapped many of the pines that surrounded it. What was the most disturbing was that alot of the headstones had been knocked over by either the trees falling in the cemetery or vandals tipping them over. After many months of hard work and dedication by "Zeke", Albert, John Q. and Roger Anderson, the headstones were righted, trees cut, fences mended and grass cut. The cemetery is now easy to get to and the headstones are available for everyone to view.
